Genius Sports and FIBA unveil new LiveStats Webcast

With the 2016-17 basketball season underway, Genius Sports, in partnership with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), is proud to announce the launch of its new and improved 2017 LiveStats Webcast product.

New features include an updated Live Video tab that creates a full second screen viewing experience, new statistics including comparisons between team leaders throughout the duration of a game as well as several new languages, all creating a responsive and easily navigable layout across all devices.

The 2016 Class of the FIBA Hall of Fame was inducted on Saturday night at the House of Basketball, FIBA’s headquarters on the outskirts of Geneva.

USA claim fourth FIBA U17 World Championship title

The United States beat Turkey 96-56 in Sunday’s Final to win the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship.

USA captain Gary Trent Jr. scored 17 points, Collin Sexton collected 16 points and 8 assists and Wendell Carter Jr. chipped in with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Turkey were paced by Ragip Berke Atar with 13 points while Eray Akyuz had a dozen for the U17 Worlds debutants, who were the first European team to reach the final since Poland in 2010.

FIBA joins forces with Wanda to raise global impact of basketball

FIBA, the International Basketball Federation, and Wanda, through its subsidiary Infront Sports & Media, on Thursday announced a long-term business partnership.

For the period of four FIBA Basketball World Cup cycles up to 2033, Wanda will be FIBA’s worldwide exclusive partner for the sale and marketing of the worldwide sponsorship and licensing rights with respect to the FIBA Basketball World Cups and their Qualifiers, the Men’s and Women’s Continental Cups and their Qualifiers, as well as the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cups and Youth World Championships. The long-term partnership starts with immediate effect and takes an all-encompassing marketing approach. It involves comprehensive marketing initiatives and services in the area of branding, merchandising, event hospitality, on-site operations and marketing partner support.
